About
A small craft business from north Sardinia: who we are, where we come from and how we work.
Andrea Pani
Founder and skipper
I'm Andrea, from Sassari. My first time at sea was at Asinara during Covid, taking out researchers who study whales, dolphins and marine habitats. That is where my respect for the sea, and for the life it protects, began.
Then came charter work as crew, years as a skipper and deliveries between Sardinia and mainland Italy. Today Sail&Clean is a small craft business: we look after boats by hand, with a few colleagues.
Licence for beyond 12 miles
This is the Italian boating licence required for open-sea deliveries.
Insured service
Insurance for the service is on us and included in the price.
How we got here
Sail&Clean is a small, young craft business. This is how it started.
How we work
For us, working with our hands is the heart of the job. Touch forces you to know what you are holding: smooth, clean teak, an even coat of varnish, well-treated steel, a line that runs freely, the sound of a well-oiled winch.
Repeating the same gesture is what builds experience: brushing along the grain of the wood, polishing carefully so the result lasts, taking a mechanism apart and looking after it. We take on a few clients at a time so we never lose sight of the details.
